· The Leyte Center for Development (LCDe) joined the pre-assessment activity conducted by theMDRRMO in Mapanas, Northern Samar. They were identified as first responders together with other offices in Mapanas. LCDe staff surveyed the coastal areas in Mapanas to observe the seashore and community preparations. An Emergency Response Team (ERT) conducted Damage, Needs, and Capacities Assessment (DNCA) in Palapag, Mapanas, and other municipalities in Northern Samar. The team is monitoring the provinces of Samar and Eastern Samar with the help of people’s organizations. LCDe advised all the community beneficiaries in the province of Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Western Samar and Leyte to take action in preparation for the impact of Typhoon Tisoy.
· Southern Tagalog People’s Response Center (STPRC) conducted planning and coordination with Disaster Preparedness Committees (DPCs) in CALABARZON and MIMAROPA. They organized ERTs and mobilized DPCs. They had an orientation and activated their early warning system. They conducted orientation on DNCA. · Tarabang Para sa Bikol, Inc. (TABI) attended the BMDR meeting. They instructed their DPCs in Albay to lead data gathering once inside ECs. One staff went to Camarines Sur for coordination and data gathering from partners. Repacking of prepositioned goods is on-going for areas which will be heavily affected by Typhoon Tisoy. This is led by church-based organizations who are partners of TABI. DPCs in Catanduanes are also on standby. · CDRC prepared ERAF for potential request from TABI and STPRC. Vehicles are also prepared. RATs convened and coordinated with RCs assigned to them. |
