41 volcanic earthquakes were detected by Bulusan Volcano’s seismic network during the past 24 hours, according to The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Bulusan is still under Alert Level 1. Phivolcs advised the public not to enter inside the 4 kilometer Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) as it may be affected by sudden steam explosions. People residing near valleys and streams are also advised to be vigilant against sediment-laden stream flows in the event of heavy and continuous rainfall.
“Due to the prevailing wind direction, residents located in the northwest and southwest sectors of the volcano are advised to take precautions against ashfalls,” Phivolcs added.
