CDRC, together with its Regional Centers TABI, ABI and CREST, conducted relief distribution for the families affected by Typhoon Nesat (Pedring) in Metro Manila, Albay, Zambales, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija. The RDOs, conducted from January 17-February 27, served 3,631 families. This was supported by Caritas Switzerland and Swiss Solidarity.

More than 600 families were forced to leave their homes because of the flooding caused by typhoon Ramon in Tunasan, Muntinlupa City. The water level in Laguna Lake was already high with the onslaught of two previous typhoons –Pedring and Quiel respectively, but the recent typhoon added more flood water to the areas concerned.
Pedring surpasses Ondoy in damage caused
Typhoon Pedring (Nesat) left Php 14.9 billion in damages to agriculture and infrastructure, surpassing the Php 12.3 billion in damages wrought by Typhoon Ondoy in 2009, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said.
