With Metro Manila’s West Valley Fault predicted to crack within our lifetimes, CDRC and National Capital Region partner Community Response for Enlightenment, Service and Transformation (CREST) heighten their capability-building activities through their Disability-Inclusive and Child-Centered Disaster Risk Reduction project. Supported by German aid and welfare organization Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) and in cooperation with Department of Education NCR, the project stresses the importance of instilling a culture of safety among school children and the whole community.
Recognizing the increasing number of people with disabilities who are most vulnerable in times of disaster, CDRC and CREST advocate for and aim to mainstream inclusive DRR in schools and communities.
