Oct. 16, 2015 – CDRC celebrates its 31st Foundation Anniversary in a series of handover ceremonies of permanent shelters to beneficiaries most affected by super typhoon Yolanda (international name Haiyan)in November 2013.
This ceremonial turnover was done in Brgy. Rubas in the municipality of Jaro, Leyte.
A total of 300 permanent houses were constructed in six barangays namely: Uguiao, Tinambacan, Cahandugan, Bia Zabala, Rubas and Burabod.
Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH), a protestant international non-government organization in Berlin, Germany and a long time donor partner agency of CDRC supported the permanent shelter project.
This is part of the recovery and rehabilitation contribution of CDRC and DKH to the Municipal Government of Jaro, Leyte. Aside from the shelter, CDRC and DKH will implement agricultural-based livelihood activities and Disaster Risk Reduction program in the same areas.
