She is from Barangay Barbacan in Roxas Palawan. Her family sells fish and they earn PhP300 a day. Before the typhoon, they prepared their things and packed up important things. However, a tree was uprooted in front of their house even before the heavy rains and winds came. They were terrified of going to an evacuation center.
Jennifer expressed her gratitude for the food packs her family received. With 10 kilograms of rice including dried fish, sardines, and mungbean, they will save this food to reach up to one month.
She said it would take a longer time to recover. It is difficult to sell fish due to limited fish catch and high prices. People are also hesitant to eat fish due to many casualties or drownings for which they believed fish eat the dead. With that, she and her husband are doing their best to do everything to provide for the needs of their children through odd jobs. Just like the many affected residents of Roxas, they want to appeal for help for their livelihood and shelter repair.
