The project, “Enhancing Flood Preparedness and Helping the Survivors of Super Typhoon Reming Help Themselves” is nearly at the finish line, achieving great leaps and strides since its humble start in 2008. Here are recent photos of various activities launched by the Disaster Preparedness Committees in eight communities at the foot of Mayon Volcano: nursery development, community tree planting, Mt. Mayon reforestation, promotion of sustainable agriculture, piloting alternative source of living, community organizing, education forums, issue discussions, and advocacy. This project is in partnership with CDRC’s Regional Center, Tarabang para sa Bicol, and is being supported by Caritas Switzerland.
