14 August 2016 – Members of Disaster Preparedness Committees (DPCs), Barangay Council, Barangay #Health Workers (BHWS), community health workers (CHWs) and other community members of at-risk/hazard-prone barangays of Rumbang and Adela in Rizal town, Occidental Mindoro province attend #First Aid Training facilitated by Occidental Mindoro State College (OMSC) Department of Midwifery Program Head Jezreel Sarabia.
This activity is part of the project “Improving #Health Care and Disaster Response Capacities on Community-Level in 6 Communities in Mindoro Occidental” being implemented by the Southern Tagalog People’s Response Center (#STPRC) through the assistance of the German medical organization #action medeor and #Aktion Deutschland Hilft (ADH).
The attendees learned the ABC (A-airway, B-breathing, C– circulation) of First Aid, #emergency care for bleeding, bandaging and splinting of wounds and fractures, management of burns, animal and insect bites, choking, stroke and other emergencies.
